Just small detour from the Ripple waterfalls, you can reach this location. Unlike Ripple waterfalls, this location can be accessed only 4 wheel drive vehicles and two wheelers.

Chunayanmakkal waterfalls is located approximately 18 km from Munnar town. The drive takes about 45 minutes, depending on road and weather conditions. The scenic route winds through valleys, spice gardens, and remote tribal hamlets.

There are no fixed entry hours, but the best time to visit is between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Morning visits are ideal for misty views, while afternoon light enhances the waterfall’s beauty. It is not advisable to visit after dark due to forest cover and safety reasons.

Route to Chunayanmakkal Waterfalls
From Munnar Town, take the Munnar–Marayoor road via Lakkam Waterfalls and continue toward Vattavada direction. Before reaching Kanthalloor, a diversion to the right leads through forest paths to the waterfalls. Local jeep safaris and forest guides are available from nearby villages like Puthuvai or Keezhanthoor.
